316 grade Stainless Steel
flue pipe is available in 5" - 10" diameters as
standard but is also available in larger sizes as 'Special'
items.
The longitudinal seam on all components is fully welded to
minimise any chance of leakage and to ensure a uniform high
quality of manufacture throughout.
316 grade Stainless Steel is extremely resistant to corrosion
and can be used on Gas, Oil, Solid Fuel, Wood and Peat.
Provision must be made for adequate inspection and sweeping
of chimney. If access cannot be gained through appliance then
the system must have cleaning doors through which access can
be gained.
Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s advice on
the correct diameter of flue to use, but never use smaller
than the appliance outlet diameter.
The flue pipe must be kept a minimum of three times the diameter
away from combustible materials.
Keep the flue as straight as possible by using the minimum
number of bends and where possible, use 30 deg. elbows to
make an offset instead of 45 deg. |
|
90 deg. bends can only be used at the bottom
of the stack as an alternative to a condensation Tee.
It is extremely important to the operation of the flue that
any horizontal flue used to connect the appliance is kept
to an absolute minimum.
Ensure that the flue is assembled with the crimp pointing
downwards to ensure that any condensation is kept within the
flue way.
Joint Clips should be used at each joint and fire cement
may also be used to ensure an airtight seal.
The flue should be adequately supported so that any movement
during sweeping is kept to a minimum.
Clamp plates are available to help locate and support liner
at the top of chimney as are Register Plates for the lower
end if required.
Chemical cleaners should not be used.
In the event of a chimney fire professional advice should
be obtained before the flue is used again.
Prolonged periods of idling should be avoided where possible
as it can promote excessive condensation. |
