The Spark Arrester

Sparks from the chimney are the biggest risk for the owners of thatched houses. That risk can be greatly reduced with the use of a Spark Arrester.

The Arrester is manufactured from 0.5mm, 304 grade stainless steel with a twin wall offset construction of stainless steel mesh which allows the smoke and flue gases an uninterrupted flow, provides a deterrent for sparks yet does not block up as would a fine single wall mesh.

It can be used in conjunction with wood or coal or more corrosive fuels such as Anthracite.

The Arrester is easily fitted to the chimney pot or liner and is held in place by a simple adjustable clip. Sweeping is carried out as normal and the cowl can easily be dismantled for thorough cleaning if required.

Standard sizes are 200mm and 225mm diameter, although other sizes can be manufactured upon request.
